Electrical Design Manager

DesignBuild Search are seeking an Electrical Design Manager on behalf of our client based in Co. Kildare.

The selected candidate will lead the design and coordination of electrical systems across a diverse portfolio of large-scale development projects nationwide. The successful candidate will oversee design quality, manage consultant teams, and ensure projects meet technical, regulatory, sustainability, and commercial objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the electrical design process from concept through construction.
  • Manage external consultants and specialist design teams.
  • Review and approve electrical designs, specifications, and technical submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, international standards, and company design guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, efficient solutions.
  • Support value engineering, sustainability initiatives, and innovation across projects.
  • Provide technical leadership during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (NFQ Level 8)
  • 6+ years’ relevant experience, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong technical/design expertise; AutoCAD knowledge a plus
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to manage teams, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Flexible, proactive, and strategic thinker with strong report-writing skills
  • Full driver’s license required
