Earthworks Project Manager

Design Build Search is seeking an experienced Earthworks Project Manager for our client, a well-established international developer-builder delivering major projects nationwide.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on major earthworks, enabling, infrastructure, and site development projects with a company renowned for quality, innovation, and operational excellence.

Please note this position will require travel throughout Ireland.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of large-scale earthworks and civil engineering projects.
  • Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Manage earthworks quantities, cut-and-fill balances, haul routes, and material management strategies.
  • Oversee project reporting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders.
  • Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and construction methodologies.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures.
  • Support commercial teams with valuations, variations, and contract administration.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practices across projects.

Requirements

  • Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience managing earthworks, infrastructure, or large-scale civil engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of earthworks operations, bulk excavation, ground engineering, and site development.
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, programmes, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction contracts and project delivery processes.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management and planning software.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel to project locations as required.
