Solar inspectation Manager, Dublin/Nationwide

DesignBuild Search are working with a leading construction and energy consultancy who continue to grow nationwide. Due to securing a 10-year framework to deliver Irelands climate action plan they are looking for a solar inspections manager.
As an office-based manager, you will be responsible for preparing weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for SEAI, reviewing appeals of inspector decisions, managing the field based staff and the PV technical team in the office, contributing to the technical standards of the PV scheme.
The role involves a blend of practical application and theoretical insight. The ideal candidate will be proactive and enthusiastic, demonstrating both strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently.
 Essential Requirements

  • FETAC Level Six qualification in a construction related discipline/trade – Electrician/Engineering
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical installations, in particular Solar PV works
  • Pleasant, friendly manner with an ability to work well in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to comprehend, capture and interpret basic customer information
  • Strong powers of judgement and an ability to manage challenging customer situations
  • Can flex with changing scheme requirements
  • Dependability; following instructions & taking responsibility for actions
  • Quality management: ability to promote and improve quality
  • A high level of motivation
  • Full, clean Driving Licence

 
Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Periodic reporting to SEAI on inspection results, numbers, and contractor performance.
  • Observing and recommending improvements on the scheme
  • Overseeing the accurate completion of all inspection documentation; whether on paper or electronic device
  • Ensuring all inspector targets are met
  • Overseeing the provision of energy advice/guidance by the technical team to applicants on the scheme
  • Overseeing the provision of technical guidance to colleagues working on the scheme
  • Overseeing the provision of technical guidance to contractors registered to complete works under the scheme
  • Provide customer service in line with the agreed code of practice and quality standards
  • Ensuring inspectors fulfil appointments made with homeowners through the helpdesk
  • Attend training courses as necessary
  • Complete requests as instructed by scheme management
  • Monitoring and meeting delivery targets for year; measured weekly
  • Organising and managing staff workload.
