Senior Safety Manager – Belgium – Commercial Construction
Due to an increase in project workload there is a unique opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to work on a Data Centre Project in Belgium. Having a number of health and safety reports you will report to the Project Director and have an instrumental role liaising with the client and contractors. The project is at the beginning stages and will run for over two years. It will be based on a rotation set up or if living locally a local role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing safety documentation
• Lead the safety team on the project
• Communicate audit findings to site management
• Advise/assist the Site/Project Management team in drafting and communicating method statements for high-risk activities.
• Be a source of guidance on all statutory health and safety matters
• Have a clear understanding of the scope of work on a data centre site
• Provide monthly KPI’s on HSE statistics for the project
• Ensure all training requirements have been met by sub-contractors on projects.
• Provide support for incident investigation reporting
• Promote a positive safety culture

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• A relevant EHS qualification (NEBOSH or similar)
• Experience in a lead or management position
• At least 10 years relevant construction experience
• Excellent people management skills, with the ability to lead and manage a large team
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and comfortable in a client facing role
