Roaming Safety Manager – Coventry  
A leading technical contractor spanning a geographical remit across Ireland, the UK, Europe and the USA. The business has a division which supplies and installs concrete for pharmaceutical, technology and logistics clients. A permanent secure role, due to an increase in project workload there is an opportunity for an experienced Safety Manager within the supply, installation and operation of concrete batch plants. The role covers regions such as Coventry, Kent, Sussex and Derbyshire. It is a roaming role and frequent travel involved. It is an operational role requiring the safety manager to have visibility on the sites.  A key focus of the role will be to assess the management system, carry out site audits and ensure any gaps in the system are worked on and that the sites are in adherence to local safety, quality and environment legislation.  The business  operates an integrated management system including Health and Safety OHSAS 18001 Certification and Environment ISO 14001 Certification.  

Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct regular formal site audits and carry out inspections as directed in the Safety Management system
• Assess management system and ensure the system is tailored to the business needs 
• Communicate the findings of the audits to site management and project director and assist in the closure of issues in line with company policy.
• Assessing the EHS function to identify areas for improvement and develop new initiatives.
• Investigating and analyzing incidents and identifying root causes.
• To provide training and information to the workforce using appropriate training aids and media, communicating, and promoting initiatives for accident prevention and greater EHS awareness.
• Thorough knowledge of relevant environmental health & safety legislation.
• Ability to manage, mentor and promote Safety onsite.
• Maintaining management systems in accordance with ISO 45001/14001 and Safe T Cert.
• Represent the company impeccably with clients, subcontractors and third parties.

Skills and qualifications:

• Relevant EHS qualification essential.
• Experience in the concrete production and supply industry 
• Thorough knowledge of Health and Safety OHSAS 18001 and Environment ISO 14001  
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office required.
• Management system review and planning 
• Auditing Experience
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
