Design Build Search is partnering with a leading engineering consultancy to recruit a Principal Project Manager – Highways for their Sustainable Infrastructure team. This role is ideal for an experienced Project Manager with at least 12 years of experience, looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will work on a wide range of projects, including national roads, greenway and active travel projects, and major highways design and build schemes. With an established company and a clear path for career progression, including Associate and Director roles, this is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:

  • Lead multi-disciplinary design teams, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Supervise and mentor both senior and junior staff within the Infrastructure sector.
  • Prepare technical reports and tender documents.
  • Plan and manage design work, collaborating closely with Engineering Discipline Leads and Technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance systems, health and safety legislation, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate work with other project and infrastructure team members to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Manage client relationships and project communications.

 
Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with Chartered Engineer status.
  • At least 12 years’ post-graduate experience in the design and project management of highways, greenway, and infrastructure projects, including experience delivering projects in Ireland.
  • Experience delivering highway or greenway projects in line with TII Project Management Guidelines (Phases 0 to 4).
  • Experience in the delivery of design and build projects.
  • Strong multi-disciplinary design management experience.
  • Proven ability to engage with clients, external stakeholders, and sub-consultants.
  • Experience in creating and managing project budgets.
  • High-energy professional with excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
  • Flexible, team-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings.
  • Full driving licence.
