Mechanical Supervisor

Design Build Search is working with a leading construction company that has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Site Supervisor to join their team in the Greater Dublin area. This role is perfect for a professional with hands-on experience in mechanical site supervision, installation, and commissioning, who is looking to take on a key leadership role in managing high-profile construction projects.
 
Responsibilities

  • Use the Procore Construction Software package to review and analyse blueprints and floor plans, ensuring a clear understanding of the mechanical design layout.
  • Identify any issues during prestart meetings with the Senior Project Manager.
  • Supervise the installation of mechanical systems, including piping and fixtures for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquids.
  • Lead the site operatives and apprentices, with support from the Operations Manager.
  • Liaise with contractors, managers, and other stakeholders to ensure coordination and clear communication across all parties.
  • Educate site operatives on safety protocols and accident procedures.
  • Regularly inspect sites to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
  • Respond to site accidents in accordance with established accident protocols.
  • Maintain detailed records of site activities and progress.
  • Ensure quality workmanship from staff and sub-contractors, in line with MGME’s Quality Assurance Standards.
  • Raise notices to the main contractor for any on-site issues or delays encountered.
  • Work closely with the procurement team to manage material orders and delivery logistics.
  • Oversee testing and commissioning activities as requested by the Senior Project Manager, Quality Assurance, and commissioning teams.
  • Document all Requests for Information (RFIs), damage, theft, and out-of-scope work through Procore.
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures to safeguard the wellbeing of yourself, staff, and visitors.
  • Ensure all company standards, policies, and procedures are maintained at all times.
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the Manager or Senior Management Team.

 
The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a Time-Served Plumber with relevant qualifications.
  • Have experience in a similar Site Supervisory role.
  • Be an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • Have the ability to perform under pressure and meet project deadlines.
  • Possess a solid working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
  • Hold a full, clean driving licence.
  • Be flexible and open to travelling to various MGME project sites.
  • Hold valid safety certifications and documentation.
