Health & Safety Lead – Mechanical & Electrical Projects 
Denmark
One of Ireland’s leading building services contractors is seeking a professional Health & Safety Lead for an upcoming project in Denmark. The role will report to a Safety Manager who is collaborative and passionate about safety and people. This employer has an impressive portfolio of completed and ongoing work on landmark projects throughout Ireland & Europe with permanent work available not just for this project.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Implementation of the Company’s Safety Management System. 
  • Maintaining the safety management CMS System. 
  • Developing, updating and communicating site-specific Health and Safety Plans and Emergency Plans. 
  • Advising and assisting subcontractors in drafting and communicating Method Statements and Risk Assessments.  
  • Conducting site inspections and audits and presenting findings to the management teams. 
  • Ensure subcontractors are compliant and adhere to project and group EHS policies and procedures. 
  • Maintaining a site training matrix for all craft & staff and arranging / providing training where applicable. 
  • Delivery of Site Health and Safety Induction for new employees / contractors. 
  • Managing the delivery of toolbox talks with all site teams.  
  • Arranging onsite safety promotion reward schemes and initiatives. 
  • Conducting accident / incident investigation reports in a timely manner and communicating to project management. 
  • Attend daily activity briefings and whiteboard meetings. 
  • Presenting on a weekly basis, site statistics & project updates.  
  • Maintain records of statutory inspections. 
  • Chairing safety meetings with subcontractors.  

  
Skills and Requirements 

  • Relevant Level 7 EHS qualification essential. 
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a similar role is essential. 
  • Experience working in the Construction Sector. 
  • Mechanical/Electrical project experience is advantageous.  
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office required. 
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.  
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
