Associate Director – Infrastructure

Design Build Search is working with a leading engineering consultancy who have an exciting opening for an Associate Director to join their Bridge Design Team in Dublin. This role would be ideal for an experienced Senior Bridge Engineer looking to take the next step in their career. With strong growth plans and a solid portfolio of projects, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress into a Technical Director role within a supportive structure.
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead a local team of Bridge engineering professionals.
• Drive business development and manage tender submissions for professional services contracts.
• Plan and allocate resources effectively for short, medium, and long-term project success.
• Provide technical input and oversee the structural aspects of project delivery.
• Lead medium and large-scale projects, ensuring they are completed to the highest standards, within budget and on time.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
• Support and mentor junior team members, fostering their development and growth.
• Assist in fulfilling the duties of the Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP).

• Proven experience in leading technical projects.
• Strong client-facing experience, with excellent communication skills.
• Previous experience in staff management and team leadership.
• Proactive with a proven track record of delivering high-quality services to both public and private sector clients.
• Extensive expertise in bridge design, inspection, assessment, and rehabilitation.
• Proficiency in Eurocodes and structural analysis software (e.g., MIDAS Civil or LUSAS).
• Experience in designing and refurbishing concrete, steel, and masonry structures.
• A collaborative approach, with experience working in multidisciplinary teams.

 
Requirements:

• A Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• At least 15 years of experience as a Bridge / Senior Bridge Engineer, with a minimum of 10 years working on Irish projects post-graduation.
• Chartered Bridge Engineer status (CEng, MIStructE, or equivalent).
