Mechanical Engineer – Sales 
DesignBuild Search are working with a leading Mechanical Contractor in the West of Ireland who have an opening for a Mechanical Engineer in their Sales & Business Development division. A standalone role it can be based anywhere in Ireland. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing the Marketing/Sales/Projects function for the business. This is more a consultative sell process to professionals rather than a trade counter sale with high frequency repeat business. You will get the opportunity to work on  high value opportunities and position the cutting-edge product as the basis of design with clients / engineers on Data Centres / Pharmaceutical Facilities. You don’t need to have worked in a sales team before, but interested in being part of a growing commercial team

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop sales strategy for the business and utilise your contacts in Ireland and Europe
• Procure new business in line with agreed targets.
• Developing relationships with clients.
• Identify the key decision makers with new clients and turn this into new business.
• Identifying and reporting on business opportunities in target markets.
• Identifying sales channels globally either direct or distribution.
• Identifying sub-contractors to install the service globally to be used as partners.
• Submit a weekly status report and monthly reports to the CEO/MD.
• You will be expected to travel internationally as business requires.

TO BE CONSIDERED

• Must be a qualified mechanical engineer, 3/5 years’ experience
• Be proficient in BIM
• Good Communicator / Presenter and confident to deliver CPD/Lunch & Learn Sales presentations, business can train on the content 
• They don’t necessarily need to have been in a sales team before, but interested in being part of a growing commercial team
• Experience in the Data Centre Industry dealing with contractors and factory heads
• Also experience working in the HVAC industry and have a mechanical engineering background ideally. 
• An interest in sales using mechanical engineering experience to step into that role 
• Ability to travel
• Can provide detail on business won and results achieved
