System Design Engineer – HVAC & Sustainable Energy

My client is a leading Irish provider of HVAC equipment and they currently require a passionate engineer to join the team and establish a new technical solutions function in the company.

This is a pivotal role in supporting their sales team by designing efficient space and water heating systems for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop heating systems, utilizing heat pumps, boilers, and renewable energy technologies such as solar PV.
  • Ensure designs comply with building regulations and industry standards.
  • Project system performance, running costs, and electrical loads.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical expertise and support during presentations.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in heating and renewable energy technologies.

Requirements:

  • Level 8 Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, or Building Services Engineering essential.
  • Design experience in the building services industry.
  • Proven understanding of heat transfer, ventilation, refrigeration, and combustion principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with colleagues and clients.

What’s on offer?

  • My client is a leading Irish supplier of building services equipment – heat pumps, chillers, gas boilers, solar PV, control equipment, and more.
  • This role can mostly be worked remotely but you would be expected to visit the office in Kerry every week or two – other arrangements can be discussed.
  • It’s a 39 hour week, Monday to Friday, hours of work are 9.00 to 17.30
  • Salary is open for discussion – depending on level of experience and suitability for the role / company. There is bonus potential as well.
  • The business current has 25-30 employees and expects to grow over the next few years so there will be good prospects for advancement.
