A well established and leading commercial construction business in Europe has a unique opening for a Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor.  If you would like to join a business with practical and tailored safety systems and a supported safety culture this could be the role for you.

Reporting the HSEQ Manager, The Safety Advisor is responsible for directing the implementation of the Safety strategy on Projects while ensuring that a positive safety culture is maintained, so that the business can continue to maintain its industry leader reputation in relation to Health, Safety and Environmental compliance. 

Role Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the operational team and support the development and monitoring of safe systems of work and risk assessments to ensure all project activities are adequately planned and executed.
  • Auditing and Reporting. Ensuring Projects are audited; indices are tracked, and non-conformances are addressed.
  • Lead and influence H&S culture across projects.
  • Support and engage the workforce in the identification of occupational health safety and environmental risk and coach them in risk mitigation.
  • Promote and reinforce positive attitudes and behaviours amongst the workforces.
  • Ensure projects operate in compliance with all statutory requirements and best practice.
  • Highlight and Advise on HSE related issues from preconstruction to completion of all associated project works.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and instruction in all health & safety matters to management, safety representatives and employees (including subcontractors where appropriate).
  • Assist Health & Safety Manager in accreditation applications Auditing and Reporting.
  • Facilitate internal and external inspections/ audits and ensure the timely close out of any issues arising.
  • Support coordinate and lead (as necessary) the investigation of incidents to ensure effective learning outcomes and timely closure of actions.
  • Produce High Quality reports.
  • Identify staff training requirements and deliver where appropriate training.

 
 
To Be Considered 

  • Third level qualification in Safety or related discipline.
  • Highly organised, conscientious, highly focused and detail orientated.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Full clean driver’s license preferable.
  • Experience working on Commercial Construction projects in the Construction Sector 
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office required.
